Statistics have shown that there are over 34 million orphans in Africa. Also, more than 3 million of these live in Kenya alone, and a massive number spread across other parts of East Africa.
Sadly, this is not the conclusive data. Many of these African children are underprivileged, with poor guardian/parental care. Many of these kids neither have access to quality education nor sound academic schemes.
Although alarming and shocking, these statistics are correct. Large chunks of African’s less privileged children today are suffering without proper learning methods, and lack of opportunities.
Most of these countries’ state governments have also, unfortunately, not been able to cover this class of children. That is why it beckons on volunteer aids to try their best to help these people out.
The African Volunteer Aid has, therefore; taken it upon itself, to reach out to these people and help them to gain access to educational avenues. To do this, AVA does not only reach them via our volunteer programs but also offer sponsorship schemes to many of these children.

Providing Sponsorship for the underprivileged in Africa
AVA carries out periodic sponsorship of underprivileged children in East Africa and does this over time, year in, and year out. We also provide them with scholarship schemes and chances.
Eligibility for these schemes varies. It is based on the interest to do so and the full participation in educational activities. AVA looks forward to helping those who value education but cannot get it; those who revere the act of learning but cannot afford it and those who care enough to ask for help.
Why Should You Bother About It?
Africa is a vast continent; it isn’t made of abstract buildings and streets but of people like you and me. It comprises of individuals who are at a developing stage that most of our western countries were centuries before now. It would be inhumane to let them suffer without assistance and help. Especially when it now involves innocent children who have nothing to do with the failing systems in their countries.
Educating the Less privileged is not just a passion, it is a mandate.
For the AVA, this isn’t just a passion, some zeal or some desire. It’s an integral part of her goal. It is one of the reasons why we are what we are; to help others, to touch the lives of the vulnerable, to reach people who may never be able to pay back and to change the future.
How can you help?
If you are reading this at all, it means you have a passion to help others; do not suppress or underestimate it; do something about it today, and let’s reach those who otherwise, may not find help.
If you are interested, if you want to volunteer your services or finance, or if you want to be a part of AVA today, contact us through this site, or push an email through to us and we would be glad to hear from you.
